Of course my first blog post of the year has ended up involving Deciem! While this was not the plan, it seems those sneaky monkeys have been keeping a pretty big secret from us, which I cannot keep from you, so here we are with the exciting reveal. When The White Company first reached out to me about trying their mysterious new launch I was pretty excited because I immediately thought “oooh, candles!” and oh, how wrong I was. Instead what arrived was a beautifully big white box full of……skincare! Yep, that’s right, The White Company are launching their very first line of skincare products and they partnered with Deciem to do it! Continue reading

The All Day 5 Mask Ultimate #SundaySpaDay Routine

img_2320

#SundaySpaDay has been a long tradition on Instagram and it’s one I used to look forward to a lot before I got to too busy to really enjoy them properly. I didn’t really do them at all over the summer, but these past few weeks I have made an effort to bring back the facial fun and this is my current favourite routine. I have done this three times now and the results have been so great that I thought it was time I shared it with you. Enjoy! Continue reading

Long Overdue Huge Empties Post

img_2227

It has been far, far too long since my last empties post (here), so brace yourself for an epic rundown of everything I finished up over the past few months. I love these type of posts because it’s so helpful to reevaluate my thoughts on a product once I’ve used it all the way to the end. It’s important to me to see if my first impressions still stand or if my feelings have totally changed, as it has done with some of these. Most of the products included in this post have been fully reviewed on the blog already, so this is just a brief final overview of my thoughts and experiences, a “last impressions” if you will, before the empty bottles hit the trash. Not everything here was used up by me and not everything was a success, so keep reading to find out which ones I loved to the very last drop and which ones didn’t get that all important “repurchase” seal of approval. Update: to read my complete 27 product full review of The Ordinary please click HERE.

Following on from my last post featuring Advanced Retinoid 2%, Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA that you can read here, today I am going to be talking about the brand’s first venture into facial oils and the gem simply know as “Buffet”. I think both of these are quite underrated and have been generally overlooked for the more “exciting” products, but both are brilliant and I can’t wait to tell you why, so let’s jump right in to it! September and October Favourites: The Ordinary Skincare Full Review Part 1

img_1955

Update: to read my complete 27 product full review of The Ordinary please click HERE.

It’s been almost two months since the launch of Deciem’s new line The Ordinary and it has been a total whirlwind for everyone involved! From the moment it was announced there has been such an incredible buzz about it and that has not stopped. I probably got about 20 messages about it within an hour of the debut and since then The Ordinary has become one of my most asked about brands. By now, most of you will know what this new “skincare concept” is all about, but if you’re still new to it, you can read my introduction to the brand here. As I said in that post, this has become one of the biggest (and arguably most important) launches in the history of skincare and a total gamechanger. I have been using 5 out of the 10 products for the past few weeks now and can’t wait to tell you all about them, because they have proved to be far from ordinary… Continue reading

Skincare Confession: My 30 Seconds Or Less Two-Step Routines

img_1810

As some of you will have noticed from my recent inconsistent posting on Instagram (sorry about that), I am pretty busy at the moment. There has been no time to share my skincare routines with you all, but worse than that, there has barely been any time to actually do them! As shocking as that may seem, it hasn’t been all bad as on the days when I have been too tired for even just a “simple” cleanse, tone and moisturize, I have found some pretty impressive 2-step combos that have done a great job of taking care of my skin in 30 seconds or less, which has been so helpful. Aurelia Pop-Up Boutique And The 20 Minute Facial That Saved My Skin

(Use code DETAIL15  for 15% off your order at www.aureliaskincare.com excluding Christmas sets and the 3-Step Probiotic Routine.)

As many of you will know by now, I have been a huge fan of Aurelia Probiotic Skincare ever since I discovered the absolute joy that is their beautiful Miracle Cleanser earlier this year. I loved the products so much that I even posted a simple “self-care” routine (here) using just two of them, to show that you don’t always need an elaborate and complicated lineup to pamper your skin. Since then, the cleanser has become an integral part of my skincare stash and just this week it has helped get my skin back on track after an allergic reaction that left it red, itchy and inflamed. Aurelia are truly one of the most beautiful brands out there with products that actually deliver, so when I heard they were opening their very first pop-up boutique in London I had to go. Last night I had the pleasure of hanging out with some of the amazing team, had a facial that healed my skin and also got to see their new products, which I am so excited about to tell you all about! Summer Favourites: Part 2 – My Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation Skin Heroes

img_0701

As anyone who has had a breakout before will know, healing the blemish is only half the battle. The discoloured (red/purple/brown) “post inflammatory hyperpigmentation” mark that gets left behind can look worse than the actual spot ever was and take even longer to heal. Of course, this doesn’t happen to everyone or in all cases and depends on many factors like skin tone, size and depth of the blemish or whether you picked it etc etc, but when it does happen, it’s pretty frustrating. As I have brown (Indian) skin I am prone to PIH as a rule, no matter what I do or don’t do but this time I was pretty lucky. I’m guessing that because my skin was in great shape before the reaction and because I was able to heal my skin so quickly, the PIH wasn’t all that bad. I was easily able to cover them with concealer and wasn’t worried about it at all. Continue reading

Summer Favourites: Part One – How I Healed My Skin From A Bad Breakout

img_0659

July and August were extremely busy months for me and because of that I barely had the time (or energy) to consistently post my skincare routines on Instagram. What you missed during those months was me being reckless and excitedly trying a bunch of new products all at once (I know, I know) and ending up with a pretty intense bad reaction. For the first time in years I had multiple big, red, painful blemishes and it was not pleasant. Luckily, I was able to very quickly heal my skin, so in this post I wanted to share with you the star products that helped me do that. As it was summer, my morning routine was all about sun protection, but in the evenings I was able to fully concentrate on tackling the breakouts, and as that’s when the majority of the healing took place, this post is going to focus on the routine that got my skin back on track. Sarah Chapman Skinesis Eye Tight Treatment Review & Giveaway!

IMG_0203

As many of you will know, this summer has been a busy one for me. I have gone from one exhausting and demanding (but also exciting and rewarding) week to the next and suddenly it’s September and I don’t quite know how that happened. Because of everything that I have been doing lately, sleep has been in short supply and after many, many late nights and endless hours spent staring at a computer screen, my eyes started to show it. I genuinely looked as exhausted as I felt and that’s never a good thing. When Sarah Chapman launched two new treatments focused on the eye area, it could not have come at a better time. My eyes were dark and dry, and I had suddenly developed a few fine lines, so it was time to do something. Continue reading
