My Top Blemish/Congestion/Inflammation Fighting Nighttime Routine

(Disclaimer – this post is not an ad, sponsored or paid for and does not contain any affiliate links. All products PR/Brand/Retailer sent unless otherwise stated.)

When I posted this routine on Instagram a few weeks ago it got a lot of questions, so I thought I would break down the entire lineup on the blog and explain how and why I used each product. One of the reasons I wanted to do it is because it worked so well for me. Even though skincare can only do so much, I am still very grateful for what it can do because in this case, it saved my skin from a full on meltdown. The other reason is that a lot of the questions were about some of the newer products in my stash like CAIS 5%, the Mahalo and Siam Seas balms and then others simply wanted to know about the “FM 5-day cycle”. I know I have mentioned my own personal 4-day routine cycle (that post is coming soon) but this is completely different to what I did here because it was based around using NIOD’s brilliant Flavanone Mud for five nights in a row. The All Day 5 Mask Ultimate #SundaySpaDay Routine

img_2320

#SundaySpaDay has been a long tradition on Instagram and it’s one I used to look forward to a lot before I got to too busy to really enjoy them properly. I didn’t really do them at all over the summer, but these past few weeks I have made an effort to bring back the facial fun and this is my current favourite routine. I have done this three times now and the results have been so great that I thought it was time I shared it with you. Enjoy! Continue reading

First Impressions: NIOD Non-Acid Acid Precursor 15%

IMG_6412

Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Lactococcus Ferment Lysate, Bisabolol, Glycerin, Ethyl Linoleate, Hexanoyl Dipeptide-3 Norleucine Acetate, Myristoyl Nonapeptide-3, Yeast Extract, Soy Amino Acids, Pseudoalteromonas Exopolysaccharides, Lecithin, Sorbitan Isostearate, Isohexadecane, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Polysorbate 60, Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Sodium Salicylate, Citric Acid, Sodium Chloride, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Pentylene Glycol, Ethoxydiglycol, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin.

Originally I had planned to do a brief overview of the three newest products from NIOD but since there has been so much interest in this one, I thought I would single it out for a more in-depth ‘First Impressions’ post. NAAP is NIOD’s answer to the traditional acids and retinoids out there, which the founder Brandon Truaxe believes provide short-term value that is not worth the inflammation caused. This could not have launched at a better time for me because for the past few weeks I have drastically reduced my acid usage and surprisingly, but also not so surprising, the improvement to my skin is big. Since using NAAP I am so on board with the non-acid exfoliation movement and love how my skin behaves. Continue reading

March and April Empties: Part 1

IMG_6362

More than the just for the satisfaction of seeing everything I have used up, I love doing empties posts because as I’ve said before, I think it’s so important to reevaluate my thoughts on the things I use once they’re all gone. In this post is a huge collection of products I finished during March and April while travelling. It took a lot for me not to throw all this out on the go but I just couldn’t miss the opportunity to document my “success” so here it all is! Continue reading

Top Three Purifying Serums: Kypris Clearing Serum, Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Serum And Bravura London 2% Salicylic Acid Peel Review

IMG_4404

Serums are such an important step in our skincare routine and because I have combination skin, having a great purifying one is essential to keeping my complexion balanced, clear and smooth. Over the years I have used some pretty harsh ones (high alcohol content etc) that have left my skin irritated, dry and flaky but these three have been complete heroes for me. I wanted to do a post about them together because not everyone with acne or who is acne prone needs the same thing but between these serums there is an option for every skin type, acne level, ingredients preference and budget. November Favourites, Bravura London Review and Giveaway!

FullSizeRender

If you follow me on Instagram, then you will know I have been pretty obsessed with Bravura London for the past couple of months. The 2% Salicylic Acid Peel was my most used product in November and now with the addition of the 10% Glycolic Acid Peel and the Revitalising Ginseng Toner, my obsession is off the charts. It was so easy for me to pick them as last month’s favourites because I have used them more than any other product I own and have seen better results than with anything else I use. I have also been getting so many questions about them that I thought it was high time I did a review so you can get an idea of what they’re like and decide which one is right for you. Continue reading
