After being insanely excited about this NIOD launch for months, of course it would finally happen during my unplanned and longer than expected Insta-break in November. I had initially planned to write about it in time for launch, but that sadly didn’t happen and I am very sorry because I know how many of you were waiting to hear more about it. I got a lot of DMs and emails about CAIS2 while I was away, so in this post I want to address the questions that were asked, share my experience with the new formula and give a comparison to the 1% and 5%. MINTD Box October 17 Review

This box is a cozy night in dream and to have it during my favourite month makes it even better. I love this time of year because the weather starts to cool down, the night’s get longer and of course, the beautiful colour changes in nature just make the transition from summer to autumn so much more enjoyable. This is also when I really notice how long the year has been and suddenly I find myself feeling exhausted and craving cozy night’s in. The start of Autumn is my time to slow down, relax more and just recharge from everything that has happened over the previous nine months (and hasn’t it been a lot?!), so this month’s MINTD Box has been perfect for me. New Launch & First Impressions: Lixir by Colette Haydon

(Disclaimer – this review is not an ad, sponsored or paid for and does not contain any affiliate links. All products are PR/Brand/Retailer sent unless otherwise stated.)

One of the things I love about Victoria Health is how thoughtful they are with the brands they choose to launch. It takes a lot for Gill to add a new skincare line to the site and with the last one being The Ordinary, you know Lixir has to be something special to make the cut (spoiler alert: it is). I was so pleasantly surprised when the products arrived at my door a few weeks ago and have been so excited to talk about them since my very first use. Beyond the fact that this new brand is a millennial’s dream in terms of branding and packaging, it also has a lot going on formula wise and I have a feeling Lixir is destined for big things. NIOD – The Complete Review

(Disclaimer: This review was commissioned by Victoria Health for my article on their site. It is not an ad or sponsored and does not contain any affiliate links.)

Even though when The Ordinary had its surprise debut last year and caused a major commotion in the industry, NIOD have always been the original game changer in my books. I was already very familiar with DECIEM when NIOD arrived, having used Fountain since it first launched back in 2013, as well as Hand Chemistry (now The Chemistry Brand) and then HIF when that came along, so when Brandon Truaxe finally introduced his very first official skincare line I was more than ready to get on board. MINTD Box September ’17 Review

(Disclaimer: The box was sent for review purposes and this post is not an ad, sponsored or paid for and does not contain any affiliate links.)

This review is coming a little later than expected due to a very busy start to the month and then some unexpected photography issues, but it is one I have been excited to share. This month’s theme is “Refine & Restore” and it is all about supporting your skin as we transition the seasons and each product is a perfectly thoughtful inclusion. My combination skin always struggles going from summer to autumn and this month’s excellent curation has helped to make the changeover a lot less stressful this year. Continue reading

The Debate: The Problem with Instagram

This article has been a long time coming because Instagram has changed a lot over the past several months and not just by design, but in how we use it. This year I have noticed a pretty big shift in how we behave, post and interact etc, and I know I am not the only one who’s picked up on this. In particular, the skincare community is not quite what it used to be. What started out as a fun way to share a burgeoning passion for skincare and connect with others has morphed into some sort of social media high school with cliques, gossiping and even bullying. I have been surprised, shocked and saddened by a lot of what I have seen recently and it has been so disappointing. There have been times when I have felt anxious over something that has happened on Instagram, wanted to cry over what has been said to me and even considered deleting my account more than once. MINTD July Box and 1st Birthday!

(Disclaimer: The box was sent for review purposes and this post is not an ad, sponsored or paid for and does not contain any affiliate links.)

My oh my how time has flown! Here we are half way through July already (although yay summer!), which means it’s MINTD‘s first birthday! This is such a special occasion and I am so excited to tell you all about this celebratory box because it is a good one. Over the past year there have been mostly hits and a few misses from MINTD for me, but this beautifully curated selection has seriously impressed me. I have been introduced to new products from two of my favourite brands, discovered a lovely product from a brand I’ve never heard of and finally found a product I actually like (woo!) from a brand that hasn’t worked for me in the past. This is exactly what I love and hope for when it comes to beauty boxes and I am so pleased with every product in the 1st Birthday The Glow Edit. Continue reading
