When I asked Imelda what her skincare routine would look like if she only used British brands I had no idea what I was getting myself in to! What she came back with was a list of the most covetable products and the most indulgent “slow” routine that it just had to have it’s own post. As expected from someone who lives and breathes skincare and green beauty, every single step has been considered and what she uses is of the very best quality. Keep reading to find out which products made the cut and how you can win every single product in Imelda’s spectacular “Best of British” Skincare Routine. Continue reading
Content Beauty & Wellbeing changed my life and the trailblazing founder Imelda Burke is my hero. Now, I know these are pretty bold statements, so let me explain. As some of you may know from reading my first ever post “My Green Beauty Journey”, I found my way to this ‘lifestyle’ after being very sick for quite some time and deciding I needed to make a change. One of those changes was with my skincare products and one night when I was (again) in London for work, I found myself wide awake at two in the morning googling every ingredient in the products I had brought with me and being completely shocked and angry at what I discovered (mineral oil in everything for starters). I vowed there and then to replace it all but I had no idea how or what to use instead and that’s where Content came to the rescue. I simply googled “organic skincare london” and thankfully, their website popped up. After having quite an extensive browse around, I settled on the Tata Harper Deluxe Beauty Set (similar here), ordered it and the rest is history. If they hadn’t been there to make things so easy for me to delve in to the green beauty world during a time when I was sick, tired, frustrated and away from home, I don’t know if I would have continued on this path and if I hadn’t, so much in my life would be different now, including having this blog so, yes, Content changed my life. When I first heard that OSKIA, one of my all time favourite brands, were expanding their brilliant Renaissance range to include a moisturizer (review here) and serum to go along side one of my all time favourite cleansers, it was just the news I had been hoping and wishing for. I had previously wrote to the brand more than once asking for those exact two products so I can’t begin to tell you how excited I was about these new additions. I was lucky enough to get a pre-release sample of the moisturizer in last year’s Cult Beauty Goody Bag but I only just got my hands on the serum last month and since then it has been total love. It was hard not to write a review of this sooner as so many of you were asking about it, but since this is a product meant to impact visible change on the skin, I wanted to give it time to actually do that and I can safely say that it definitely lives up to it’s claims and is now one of my hero products. When Ada, the lovely founder of 001, very kindly invited me down to the beautiful Fortnum and Mason for a facial I could not have been more excited. I had first heard about the brand back in 2014 while watching the amazing Lisa Eldridge explain and demonstrate her facial massage routine (here) where she used the brilliant Eyecicle tool to massage her eye area. Ever since then I have wanted to learn more about the brand and last week I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to do exactly that and I can’t wait to tell you all about it because this is a brand you need to know about. I was first introduced to Evolve late last year through the lovely Swapna over at Beauty Motormouth and as soon as I decided I wanted to do a Best of British series, they were immediately at the top of my list of brands to feature. Evolve products are hand crafted in small batches in a little town just outside of London and are vegan and cruelty free. Founded by the incredibly talented Harvard Business School graduate Laura Rudoe (also founder of S5 Skincare and previously at NUDE skincare) along with Violaine Bargues (Production Development Management) and Freya Krauskopf (Studio Manager), these ladies have created a line of superfood focused, affordable, natural and organic products that are effective and beautifully formulated. Evolve only launched in June of last year but their small yet impressive lineup is well made, incredibly fresh and contains a high level of natural and organic ingredients. I have been so impressed with everything I have tried and I think Evolve is a great “little” brand doing big things in the green beauty world. Continue reading
When I first mentioned to my friends that I would be spending the month of March in the UK/Europe, Votary came highly recommended and now I know why. Discovering and subsequently falling in love with this brand is exactly the reason I wanted to do a “Best of British” skincare series. I feel like we all use the same old, well known (and perfectly good) brands but I wanted to take this opportunity to try something new and see what else was out there and I am so glad I did. Welcome to the official start of my “Best of British” series and the review of one of my most favourite discoveries since I started doing research for this feature. I first heard about La Belle Lune through Content Beauty & Wellbeing and ever since I received this gorgeous little bottle of magic, it has been the new star of my skincare universe. This is one of the most beautiful products I have ever used and I am quite addicted to what it has done for my skin. I am so lucky that I get to try a lot of products, but Organic Skin is something special and boy, did I fall for this beauty hard. I cannot wait to tell you all about it, oh and try not to get too distracted by the beautiful packaging because the product inside is even better – trust me. Continue reading
