The Ordinary – The Complete 27 Product Review

(Disclaimer: This review was commissioned by Victoria Health for my article on their site. It is not an ad or sponsored and does not contain any affiliate links.)

We have come a long way since the original 10 launches from The Ordinary back in September and what a whirlwind these past few months have been. There seems to be no stopping this industry revolutionizing right now and they just won ‘Best Anti-Ageing Brand’ at this year’s The Sunday Times Style Beauty Awards to top it all off. This is an incredible achievement for such a new brand, but completely speaks to the powerful impact it has made on the industry and on consumers like me and you. When Gill asked me to write a “definitive” review of all the products I was deeply honoured that she would entrust me with such an important task and couldn’t wait to get started on it because I know that many of you have been waiting for this. I have tested every single product for months now and want to not only share my experiences and results with you, but also give you an in-depth look into how each ingredient should work for you and what each product could do for your skin. This is an exceptionally long review, but it includes all 27 products currently available in the lineup. I wanted to have all the information in one place so you can keep it as a reference to learn more about an ingredient, specific product or decide which products to include in your own skincare routine. I hope this article will help you find the right products for your skin and make it easier to understand what you might need to be using and why. Continue reading

My Top Blemish/Congestion/Inflammation Fighting Nighttime Routine

(Disclaimer – this post is not an ad, sponsored or paid for and does not contain any affiliate links. All products PR/Brand/Retailer sent unless otherwise stated.)

When I posted this routine on Instagram a few weeks ago it got a lot of questions, so I thought I would break down the entire lineup on the blog and explain how and why I used each product. One of the reasons I wanted to do it is because it worked so well for me. Even though skincare can only do so much, I am still very grateful for what it can do because in this case, it saved my skin from a full on meltdown. The other reason is that a lot of the questions were about some of the newer products in my stash like CAIS 5%, the Mahalo and Siam Seas balms and then others simply wanted to know about the “FM 5-day cycle”. I know I have mentioned my own personal 4-day routine cycle (that post is coming soon) but this is completely different to what I did here because it was based around using NIOD’s brilliant Flavanone Mud for five nights in a row. MINTD April Box Review

(Disclaimer – the box was sent for review purposes. This post is not an ad, paid for or sponsored and does not contain any affiliate links.)

One of the things I missed doing while taking a social media/blog break was reviewing the MINTD boxes, especially after my disappointing experience with the January box (here) but now I am back with April’s curated selection and I am in love. I feel like ever since the new year MINTD have continuously stepped up their monthly picks and each box from February to now has just got better and better. This month’s theme is “The Upkeep” and the products included have been chosen to “perfect and maintain the balance of your skin”, which they have absolutely done for me. Unlike with previous boxes where one or two of the products were not for me, this box was a total winner and I am so excited to tell you all about it. Continue reading

MINTD January Box Review

(Disclaimer – this post is not an ad, sponsored or paid for and contains no affiliate links.)

Here we are with the first MINTD Box review of the year and after surviving the mess that was 2016 (shudders), a “Rejuvenate” themed selection of goodies is just what my skin needs. Unfortunately, this was a mixed bag again with some products being absolutely amazing, while others being so bad that I couldn’t bare to use them. Saying that, this box is still incredible value for money as it costs £65 and you save a massive £94, which is almost 2/3’s of the total value, so I would still highly recommend it as the products I love far outweigh the ones I don’t. My reviews are always going to be honest no matter who I’m working with, so keep reading to find out what I thought of everything in this month’s kit. Continue reading

Long Overdue Huge Empties Post

img_2227

It has been far, far too long since my last empties post (here), so brace yourself for an epic rundown of everything I finished up over the past few months. I love these type of posts because it’s so helpful to reevaluate my thoughts on a product once I’ve used it all the way to the end. It’s important to me to see if my first impressions still stand or if my feelings have totally changed, as it has done with some of these. Most of the products included in this post have been fully reviewed on the blog already, so this is just a brief final overview of my thoughts and experiences, a “last impressions” if you will, before the empty bottles hit the trash. Not everything here was used up by me and not everything was a success, so keep reading to find out which ones I loved to the very last drop and which ones didn’t get that all important “repurchase” seal of approval. Skincare Confession: My 30 Seconds Or Less Two-Step Routines

img_1810

As some of you will have noticed from my recent inconsistent posting on Instagram (sorry about that), I am pretty busy at the moment. There has been no time to share my skincare routines with you all, but worse than that, there has barely been any time to actually do them! As shocking as that may seem, it hasn’t been all bad as on the days when I have been too tired for even just a “simple” cleanse, tone and moisturize, I have found some pretty impressive 2-step combos that have done a great job of taking care of my skin in 30 seconds or less, which has been so helpful. Aurelia Pop-Up Boutique And The 20 Minute Facial That Saved My Skin

img_1518

As many of you will know by now, I have been a huge fan of Aurelia Probiotic Skincare ever since I discovered the absolute joy that is their beautiful Miracle Cleanser earlier this year. I loved the products so much that I even posted a simple “self-care” routine (here) using just two of them, to show that you don’t always need an elaborate and complicated lineup to pamper your skin. Since then, the cleanser has become an integral part of my skincare stash and just this week it has helped get my skin back on track after an allergic reaction that left it red, itchy and inflamed. Aurelia are truly one of the most beautiful brands out there with products that actually deliver, so when I heard they were opening their very first pop-up boutique in London I had to go. Last night I had the pleasure of hanging out with some of the amazing team, had a facial that healed my skin and also got to see their new products, which I am so excited about to tell you all about!
