The Debate: The Boring Truth About My Skin (And Probably Yours)

Ever notice how when your skin is freaking out, you pare back your routine to the bare minimum? Like me, you probably cut out strong actives such as acids and retinol, up the hydration and stick to only three-five products (or less) in a routine. Sound familiar? It is something I think almost everyone does instinctively and there’s a good reason for it – this just might be what our skin really wants from us. While it has become increasingly popular to acquire lots of products and perform up to ten steps per routine, most of us could very easily use way less and have better skin for it. Boring, I know, but it’s a truth I have finally accepted about my skin and it has made such a big difference. Continue reading

MINTD Box March 18 Review

(Disclaimer: this post is not an ad or sponsored and does not contain affiliate links. The box was sent for review purposes and all opinions are my own.)

Spring could not have come soon enough. I feel like this season, winter felt incredibly long and dark, and my skin did not enjoy the harsh weather at all. Thankfully this month’s MINTD Box arrived at the perfect time (about 4 weeks ago now, oops) and even though the theme for March is ‘Spring Clean’, what this box did was breathe some much needed life back in to my skin and give it a mega boost of hydration and healing.

As many of you will know I have been a big fan of MINTD since their first box. There have been countless hits, a few misses (to be expected with any sub box) and lots of favourites, but this box is easily one of the best they have ever done. Usually I find a couple of products that I like, possibly one I don’t and then one (maybe two) that I absolutely love. In this case I love every single product. Not only that, the savings with this box is one of the best they’ve had. The value is a whopping £201, but the cost is just £70 for four full size products from amazing brands. That alone should have you running off to order one (here), but if you would like to know a bit more about the products before you do then keep reading. Continue reading

My Top Ten Victoria Health Launches Of 2017

After thoroughly enjoying the first ever VH Awards in the epic and highly entertaining December newsletter, I have been itching to share my own favourites from last year. Despite everything that happened throughout 2017, there was one thing I could count on for a much welcomed distraction from the exhausting barrage of bad news and that’s exciting beauty launches! I think last year was an incredible one for skincare and I completely fell in love with so many of the new products that made their debut on the site. Continue reading

After being insanely excited about this NIOD launch for months, of course it would finally happen during my unplanned and longer than expected Insta-break in November. I had initially planned to write about it in time for launch, but that sadly didn’t happen and I am very sorry because I know how many of you were waiting to hear more about it. I got a lot of DMs and emails about CAIS2 while I was away, so in this post I want to address the questions that were asked, share my experience with the new formula and give a comparison to the 1% and 5%. The Debate: What Does “Self-Care” Mean To You?

As we swiftly approach the penultimate month of the year, I think it is safe to say that 2017 has been tough on all of us in some way or another. For me it has primarily been the global events that have taken a toll. Between successive record breaking, once in a lifetime natural disaster events, the rise in white supremacy and police brutality, multiple mass shootings, frequent terror attacks, a legitimate threat of nuclear war and now the Harvey Weinstein scandal to name just a few of them, I just feel like the world is descending into actual and total madness. New Launch & First Impressions: Lixir by Colette Haydon

(Disclaimer – this review is not an ad, sponsored or paid for and does not contain any affiliate links. All products are PR/Brand/Retailer sent unless otherwise stated.)

One of the things I love about Victoria Health is how thoughtful they are with the brands they choose to launch. It takes a lot for Gill to add a new skincare line to the site and with the last one being The Ordinary, you know Lixir has to be something special to make the cut (spoiler alert: it is). I was so pleasantly surprised when the products arrived at my door a few weeks ago and have been so excited to talk about them since my very first use. Beyond the fact that this new brand is a millennial’s dream in terms of branding and packaging, it also has a lot going on formula wise and I have a feeling Lixir is destined for big things. NIOD – The Complete Review

(Disclaimer: This review is not an ad or sponsored and all opinions are my own. Click here to get £10 off any of these products via Feel Unique.)

Even though when The Ordinary had its surprise debut last year and caused a major commotion in the industry, NIOD have always been the original game changer in my books. I was already very familiar with DECIEM when NIOD arrived, having used Fountain since it first launched back in 2013, as well as Hand Chemistry (now The Chemistry Brand) and then HIF when that came along, so when Brandon Truaxe finally introduced his very first official skincare line I was more than ready to get on board.
