Mintd Box October Review

Even though I have had this beautiful box of goodies for a few weeks now, I have been working and travelling so much that I sadly haven’t had the chance to share my love for it until now. The funny thing about how busy I have been lately is that this box is the perfect antidote to that. This month’s theme is ‘Your Essential Beauty Sleep’ and it could not have come at a better time, since sleep has been as mythical as the Loch Ness Monster I failed to spot in Scotland last month. Mintd have yet again put together another thoughtfully curated selection of luxurious products and even though I say it every time, this is my favourite box so far. It is so ideal for this time of year, but more than just being a seasonal delight, it also resonates on a spiritual level because it perfectly caters to that inevitable downward shift in emotions we all can’t help but feel going into Autumn. This box is like a big, warm hug for your tired mind, skin and soul and I can’t wait to tell you all about it. Continue reading

Skincare Confession: My 30 Seconds Or Less Two-Step Routines

As some of you will have noticed from my recent inconsistent posting on Instagram (sorry about that), I am pretty busy at the moment. There has been no time to share my skincare routines with you all, but worse than that, there has barely been any time to actually do them! As shocking as that may seem, it hasn’t been all bad as on the days when I have been too tired for even just a “simple” cleanse, tone and moisturize, I have found some pretty impressive 2-step combos that have done a great job of taking care of my skin in 30 seconds or less, which has been so helpful. Aurelia Pop-Up Boutique And The 20 Minute Facial That Saved My Skin

As many of you will know by now, I have been a huge fan of Aurelia Probiotic Skincare ever since I discovered the absolute joy that is their beautiful Miracle Cleanser earlier this year. I loved the products so much that I even posted a simple “self-care” routine (here) using just two of them, to show that you don’t always need an elaborate and complicated lineup to pamper your skin. Since then, the cleanser has become an integral part of my skincare stash and just this week it has helped get my skin back on track after an allergic reaction that left it red, itchy and inflamed. Aurelia are truly one of the most beautiful brands out there with products that actually deliver, so when I heard they were opening their very first pop-up boutique in London I had to go. Last night I had the pleasure of hanging out with some of the amazing team, had a facial that healed my skin and also got to see their new products, which I am so excited about to tell you all about! First Impressions: Stemm Shampoo, Conditioner and Serum Review

After the revolutionary launch of The Ordinary only a month ago, I really wasn’t expecting much from Deciem. I knew they had their hands well and truly full trying to keep up with the demand for those products, but of course, we should always expect the unexpected when it comes to this wonderfully abnormal bunch. A week ago, this image appeared on both Deciem’s and Victoria Health’s Instagram pages with the caption: #tuesday – simple, mysterious and tantalizing but for me, an exciting reveal as I quickly put two and two together and realized that Stemm (I had seen the logo at the top of the Deciem website) would finally be launching in Victoria Health’s October Newsletter (released on Tuesdays) and it did. I guessed (because of the name) that it would be some sort of scalp focused hair brand but had no idea it would be quite like this and the response? Wow. According to Deciem, Victoria Health sold 2 months worth of projections in just 2 DAYS. I was lucky enough to receive my set on Friday and used all three for the first time Saturday night. Since many of you are so curious about Deciem’s latest launch I thought I would fill you in on my first impressions. Continue reading

Summer Favourites: Part 2 – My Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation Skin Heroes

As anyone who has had a breakout before will know, healing the blemish is only half the battle. The discoloured (red/purple/brown) “post inflammatory hyperpigmentation” mark that gets left behind can look worse than the actual spot ever was and take even longer to heal. Of course, this doesn’t happen to everyone or in all cases and depends on many factors like skin tone, size and depth of the blemish or whether you picked it etc etc, but when it does happen, it’s pretty frustrating. As I have brown (Indian) skin I am prone to PIH as a rule, no matter what I do or don’t do but this time I was pretty lucky. I’m guessing that because my skin was in great shape before the reaction and because I was able to heal my skin so quickly, the PIH wasn’t all that bad. I was easily able to cover them with concealer and wasn’t worried about it at all. Continue reading

Summer Favourites: Part One – How I Healed My Skin From A Bad Breakout

July and August were extremely busy months for me and because of that I barely had the time (or energy) to consistently post my skincare routines on Instagram. What you missed during those months was me being reckless and excitedly trying a bunch of new products all at once (I know, I know) and ending up with a pretty intense bad reaction. For the first time in years I had multiple big, red, painful blemishes and it was not pleasant. Luckily, I was able to very quickly heal my skin, so in this post I wanted to share with you the star products that helped me do that. As it was summer, my morning routine was all about sun protection, but in the evenings I was able to fully concentrate on tackling the breakouts, and as that’s when the majority of the healing took place, this post is going to focus on the routine that got my skin back on track. Continue reading
